I'm a content marketer and strategist with 10+ years of experience writing for emerging tech, finance, and the institutions shaping how the world thinks about money, technology, and power.

I came to this work because I've always been drawn to ideas that challenge the status quo. From my early days in banking and AML compliance to discovering the world of decentralized finance and emerging technology, I've never just written about these industries. I've lived them. That's what gives the work its heart.

In March 2026, I relocated my family from Chicago to Delft, Netherlands, a city I first called home over a decade ago. I bring a transatlantic perspective to every project and a genuine understanding of what it takes to connect with Dutch audiences.

How I Got Here

My career started in places most content marketers have never been. Before I ever wrote a blog post or built an editorial calendar, I was working in banking and AML compliance at institutions like PNC and Chase, learning the financial system from the inside out. That foundation gave me something most writers in this space don't have: a genuine understanding of how money works, where the cracks are, and why so many people are hungry for something better.

That hunger led me to crypto. I found in blockchain and decentralized finance something I hadn't expected: a genuine movement, a community of people who believed the financial system could be rebuilt from the ground up in a way that was fairer, more transparent, and more accessible to everyone. I believed in it too, and that belief made me a better writer for it.

From there my career took me through some of the most interesting corners of the crypto and finance world. I spent three years at CoinDesk as Senior Content Marketing Manager, leading the content strategy for Consensus, the world's largest crypto conference, executing 160+ campaigns and helping drive a 300% increase in in-person attendance. I went on to lead content strategy for Polkadot and other Web3 projects at Distractive, building long-form content programs that ranked for competitive keywords and established real authority in the blockchain space. Along the way I also built a long-running content partnership with the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, growing the Capitalisnt podcast YouTube channel from zero to 7,600+ subscribers in under a year.

What Drives Me

I've always been drawn to the ideas that don't fit the old playbook. The ones that make people uncomfortable because they challenge something that was supposed to be permanent. Decentralized finance. Academic research that questions the assumptions of mainstream economics. Technology that puts power back in the hands of individuals instead of institutions.

What I've learned over a decade of writing about these ideas is that the best content doesn't just explain. It empowers. It meets people where they are, earns their trust, and helps them see something they couldn't quite see before. That's what I try to do in every piece of content I create, whether it's a 3,000 word blockchain explainer, an email campaign for the world's biggest crypto conference, or a landing page that makes a complex DePIN product feel approachable to someone who has never heard of Web3.

I lead with empathy because I think it's the most underrated skill in marketing. When you genuinely care about the ideas you're writing about and the people you're writing for, it shows. That's the work I'm most proud of.

From Chicago to Delft

Delft isn't a new chapter for me, it's a homecoming. I first lived here over a decade ago and left with friendships, a love of the Netherlands, and a quiet certainty that I would find my way back. In March 2026 I made good on that promise, relocating my family from Chicago to this beautiful, historic city.

Living and working in the Netherlands gives me something genuinely rare in my field: the ability to bridge cultures, not just languages. I'm an intermediate Dutch speaker actively deepening my fluency, and I have over a decade of lived experience with Dutch culture, values, and the way business gets done here. For international brands entering the Dutch market, or Dutch companies looking to connect with global audiences, that's not something you can fake or Google translate your way into.

It's also made me a better marketer. Moving your family across an ocean, navigating a new country, building something new from scratch, it gives you a lot of empathy for the clients I work with who are doing exactly the same thing.
